TasTAFE want all students and staff to feel safe and welcomed. The Student Support teams can help connect you with campus community events and programs.

What We Do

TasTAFE want everyone to succeed in their chosen studies. The Student Support team are here to help you through any challenge you may face during your time with us at TasTAFE. More information can also be found on the Student Support page of the TasTAFE Website 

Who We Are

Aboriginal Support Officers help Aboriginal people who want to, or are, studying at TasTAFE:  Aboriginal Support Officer.  Aboriginal Support Officers have strong local area networks and can help connect you with community. Check out their Facebook page here:  Aboriginal Support Facebook Page

 

Disability Liaison Officers assist students, apprentices and trainees with disabilities. You can find resources to help students with disability to prepare for further study here: Planning for post-secondary education .  

Complete a Disability Assistance Notification form online.

 

International Student Advisors assist international students studying at TasTAFE. We can connect you with a supportive community of international TasTAFE Students and alumni. Contact us: isa@tastafe.tas.edu.au .

 

Student Counsellors can help you decide what to study at TasTAFE and to tackle any issue that impacts on your studies.  You can book an appointment or get in touch with us here:

Asking for help can be hard, reach out in a way that works best for you:

-call 1300 655307 and ask for an appointment;

-ask your teacher, Client Services or Library Services to make you an appointment.

Rainbow Action Groups

Rainbow Action Groups offer LGBTIQ+ students, staff, and allies a proactive and supportive community. Contact us: rainbowactiongroup@tastafe.tas.edu.au.

Mental Health Support

Beyond Blue - provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.

Kids Helpline - help for people from 5 to 25

Lifeline 24/7 - provides all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Headspace  Headspace provides early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. Headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.

ReachOut.com  ReachOut.com provides online self-help information, peer-support programs and referral tools for young people, parents, and schools.

Family Violence and Sexual Assault

1800RESPECT  - National sexual assault, domestic family violence counselling service.

Homelessness

Houseconnect Emergency Accommodation -  is the one-stop shop for all your housing and support needs and provides one assessment for everything from emergency accommodation to a long-term home.

Tasmanian Community Services Organisations

FindHelp Tas - is a self-funded community initiative led by a partnership of Tasmanian community service organisations, supported by TasCOSS.
