5 Trends Shaping the Future of Beauty

It goes without saying that COVID 19 has had a huge impact across all aspects of life, and the beauty industry had been hit harder than most.

But it's not all bad news. Trends are emerging, both because of COVID 19 and a growing social conscience, and the beauty industry is embracing these trends, coming up with new and innovative products and services.

Eco Conscience Beauty

To be genuinely eco-conscience, it's not just about going Green. Blue Beauty is a growing trend, and it's more than just making sure your ingredients are clean and sustainability sourced. Plastic packaging and water consumption are also now becoming an important part of being eco-conscious in the hair and beauty industry

Diversity and Inclusivity

People of colour and transgender people have struggled for representation in the beauty industry, but there is a growing trend in being more inclusive and diverse with what products and services are on offer

Virtual Experience

The 2020 pandemic has seen the demand for virtual and online beauty services rise exponentially, and well-known brands and companies are embracing this change. Technology trends for beauty services are also being driven by this demand for online services

Customer-Centric Strategy

This trend in the beauty industry had begun to gain traction before COVID 19, but with the growing trend for online and virtual services, giving customers a personalised service is more important than ever.

The Impacts of Wearing Masks

Although not impacting us much here in Tasmania, masks have become a necessity worldwide for many people and this is influencing make-up and skincare trends going into 2021. With mouths covered, the focus for 2021 is going to be on the eyes, and also skincare, as "maskne" (mask acne) has become a concern, with hydrating and barrier creams.
