Teachers: SafetyHub Videos

A collection of resources for TasTAFE teachers.

Hi Teachers,

Have you had issues embedding videos in your Canvas courses? The library has found a workaround for that problem that requires minor edits to each embed code. There are two options for you to choose from:

  • Complete DIY

Embed Code by following the directions in the Staff Guide to Embedding SafetyHub Videos in Canvas handout.

Using this option will require you to make some minor coding changes. If done correctly, your video will display immediately within the Working Panel.

  • Partial DIY

The library has edited the embed codes, so they are ready for you to use; you can find them on the SafetyHub Information - Amended Embed Codes page. Contact the library to obtain the password to the page. Once on the page, you can find the required video details and use this information in conjunction with the Embedding instructions.

  • You can remove this portion of the code after placing it in the Embed Element in Canvas.

OR

Open a Word document. Copy and paste the embed code for the video, and then delete the instance. It might be a more straightforward option for those unfamiliar with code. Once done, enter the amended code into the Embedded Element in Canvas.
